Churo Negro Municipal Protected Area (Santa Cruz)

This area is located in the Comarapa canton, first municipal section of the Comarapa Municipality, it was created by Municipal Ordinance Nº 68/2007 on September 10 2007. It has a surface area of 3092 hectares, of which 1 619 belong to the Churo Negro basin and 1 459 hectares to the Amboró Natural Area of Integrated Management. The purpose of this area is to protect the origins of the Comarapa river, to preserve its hydrological environmental value, the rain forest, the biodiversity, the cultural values, and guaranteeing the provision of water to the municipality
